About this event

2021 Strategic Plan - Dream, Strengthen, Grow. Have your say.

Over the past two months, we have engaged people across Queen’s FHS and SEAMO exploring what matters most to them about Queen’s, and their hopes for the future. We heard how much people appreciate and value the unique possibilities our size, expertise, and sense of community gives us – and how much energy you have for an even stronger future.

Your voices shaped the second phase of our planning, a series of “strategy hives.” Building on the themes you identified, these sessions will bring people together around key strategic questions, and create a vision for each topic. Each of the Hives will build on the previous one, and over the full set, we will identify a strategic framework that will guide us for the next five years.

Hive One: Imagining our Collective Impact: Creating the aspirational vision for our future

May 26, 2021 from 11:30 am-2 pm

Queen’s FHS and SEAMO are both at pivotal points in their histories. As we listen to the voices of leaders, faculty, staff, students, trainees and community partners, it is clear that both FHS and SEAMO are on the precipice of making an even stronger more pronounced impact locally, provincially, and around the world. There is no question that there is a wealth of expertise, knowledge, experience and passion across our community of health scientists. The question that is resonating throughout our community is how we want to leverage our strength and uniqueness even further for the greater good.

Join us for this important strategy hive where we will create a vision for the impact we want to have and the difference we can make as key institutions in our region and the world. Together we will explore:

  • What do we most want to be known for in the world? What difference do we all aspire to make?
  • What identity and shared mission are we evolving into that blends our full eco-system of innovation and equity, research and practice, community and university?
  • What should people experience when they encounter someone from Health Sciences at Queen’s?
  • How do we craft a shared narrative that values all contributions? How do we develop the health science leaders of the future?
  • How do we create a truly sustainable environment for our work and community?

This Hive will be hosted online and facilitated by The Potential Group. The session will be highly interactive, with multiple breakout groups and opportunities to shape direction and actions for the future of the FHS and SEAMO.
